THORNEY, a market-town of England, in the county and 35 miles N.N.W. of Cambridge, 82 N. by W. of London. It has a Norman church, formerly only the nave of a conventual chapel, national and infant schools, and alms-houses. Fairs for horses and cattle are held here twice a year. Pop. 2174.
