TRUXILLO, a seaport town of Central America, state of Honduras, and department of Yoro, on the Caribbean sea, in Lat. 15. 55. N., Long. 86. W. It stands on the western shore of a noble bay, and was formerly a place of some importance, both in a military and commercial point of view, though it now contains probably under 3000 inhabitants.
