TARANCON, a town of Spain, in the province, and 38 miles W. of Cuenca, 45 miles S.E. of Madrid. It contains a handsome church, a splendid palace of the Duke of Rianzares, two schools, and several hermitages. Linen cloth is made here, and there is some trade in wine and oil. Pop. 4790.
