VESZPRIM, or WESPRIM, a town of Hungary, capital of a county of the same name, on the Sed, 60 miles S.W. of Buda. It is the see of a Roman Catholic bishop, and has a fine cathedral, episcopal palace, Piarist college, and gymnasium. Some trade is carried on in the corn and wine raised in the neighbourhood. Pop. (1851) 11,275.
