VIGAN, a town of France, department of Gard, at the foot of the Cévennes, 40 miles W.N.W. of Nismes. It has a college, a law court, cotton factories, and manufactures of silk and cotton stockings, leather, paper, and glass. A considerable trade is carried on. Pop. 4993.
