KALOCSA, or KOLOCSA, a town of Hungary, near the left bank of the Danube, 67 miles S. of Pesth. It is the seat of an archbishop, and has an ecclesiastical lyceum, parochial college, gymnasium, and an old castle, now the archiepiscopal palace, containing a fine library of upwards of 30,000 volumes. Pop. (1851) 11,000.
