LOCKERBY, a market-town of Scotland, in Dumfries-shire, on the Caledonian Railroad, 13 miles E.N.E. of Dumfries. A considerable trade in pork is carried on; and the largest lamb fair in Scotland is held here annually in August. Market-day, Thursday. Pop. (1851) 1569.
