KANTURK, a market-town of Ireland, county of Cork, at the confluence of the Alua and Dallua, 26 miles N.W. of Cork. The town is neatly built. The principal public buildings are the sessions' house, bridewell, workhouse (covering 6 acres), parish church, and Roman Catholic chapel. The chief industrial products are beer, flour, and serges. Pop. (1851) of town, 3125; in workhouse, 3352.
