AGGREGATE

Volume 1 · 59 words · 1771 Edition

in a general sense, denotes the sum of several things added together, or the collection of them into one whole. Thus, a house is an aggregate of stones, wood, mortar, &c. It differs from a mixed or compound, insomuch as the union in these last is more intimate than between the parts of an aggregate.
