BOLOGNA, a city of Italy, fifty miles north of Florence. It is about five miles in circumference, and is remarkable for its magnificent churches and monasteries, as well as for its university, which is one of the most considerable in Europe; E. long. 11° 40', and N. lat. 44° 30'.
