A cross bottomy, in heraldry, terminates at each end in three buds, knots or buttons, resembling, in some measure, the three-leaved gras: on which account Seguing, in his Tresor Heraldique, terms it croix treffle. It is the badge of the order of St Maurice. See Plate LI. fig. 17.
