The receptacle is naked, it has no pappus; the calyx is hemispherical and imbricated; and the scales on the margin are membranaceous. There are nineteen species, two of which are natives of Britain, viz. the segetum, or corn marigold; and the leucanthemum, or ox-eye daisy.
