or TOOTHWORT, in botany, a genus of the tetradyamia filioposa clasps. The filiop or pod bursts open by elastic valves; the stigma is emarginated; and the calyx is connivent. There are three species, only one of which, viz., the bulbifera, or coralwort, is a native of Britain.
