LEOPARD'S BANE, in botany, a genus of the syngenesia polygamia superflua clas. The receptacle is naked; the pappus is simple; the scales of the calyx are equal, and longer than the disc; and the seeds in the radius are naked, and have no pappus. There are three species, none of them natives of Britain.
