or SWEET FLEABANE, in botany, a genus of the syngenesia polygamia superflua clas. The receptacle is naked; the pappus is hairy; and the radii of the corolla are linear and very narrow. There are sixteen species, two of which are natives of Britain, viz. the acre, or blue-flowered fleabane; and the canadense, or Canada fleabane.
