in botany, a genus of the triandra digynia clas. It has two carinate valves, of equal lengths, and including the corolla. There are 10 species, three of them natives of Britain, viz. the canariensis, or manured canary-grass; the arenaria, or sea canary-grass; and the arundinacea, or reed canary-grass.
