The calyx of both male and female consists of three leaves; neither of them have any corolla; the stamens are numerous; the anthers are rotated, and divided into eight segments; the female has no stylus; and the berry contains one seed. There are two species, only one of them, viz. the baccata, or yew-tree, a native of Britain.
