in medicine, denotes a chalky or stony concretion in any part of the body, as the bladder, kidney, &c. but especially in the joints. TOPICAL medicines, are the same with external ones, or those applied outwardly to some diseased and painful part: such are plasters; cataplasms, unguents, &c.
