in botany, a genus of the triandria-digynia clas. The calyx consists of two fertile valves, containing three flowers. There are eleven species, only three of them natives of Britain, viz. the repens, or couch-grass; the canicum, or bearded wheat-grass; and the junceum, or sea wheat-grass.
