in botany, a genus of the monocæcia monogynia clas. The male has neither calix nor corolla. The calyx of the female consists of one leaf; it has no corolla; and there are four germina, and as many seeds. There is but one species, viz. the palustris, or horned pond-weed, a native of Britain.
