(Strabo;) Abrettene, (Stephanus;) a district of Mytilene, in Asia. Hence the epithet Abrettene given Jupiter, (Strabo;) whose priest was Cleon, formerly at the head of a gang of robbers, and who received many and great favours at the hand of Antony, but afterwards went over to Agrippa. The people were called Abrettene; inhabiting the country between Ancyra of Phrygia, and the river Rhyndacus.
