or blue montpelier pine, a genus of the monogynia order, belonging to the hexandria clas of plants; of which there is only one species known. It is a native of France; the root consists of a number of slender, hard, woody, long, and contorted fibres; the radical leaves are very numerous, two inches long, extremely narrow, and wither very quickly. The flake is round, smooth, without a joint or knot, naked, and tolerably firm; at its top stands a single and very beautiful blue flower, arising from a kind of compound imbricated cup.
