(Diteric), an excellent painter, was born at Amsterdam, and was the son of a very industrious painter. He studied in Italy, and became the favourite disciple of Titian, with whom he lived a long time; but at length returned to Amsterdam, where he performed many extraordinary pieces. He died in 1582, aged 48.
