(Leonard), physician to the duke of Alencon, and to Henry III. was born at Alti in Piedmont. He introduced at Paris the practice of frequent letting of blood; which was condemned by the faculty; but soon after his death it came into practice with all the physicians. He published several books in physic and surgery; the best edition of which is that of Leyden in 1660, octavo.
