Kaffa, a city and port-town of Crim Tartary, situated on the south-east part of that peninsula. E. Long. 37° 0'. N. Lat. 44° 55'.

It is the most considerable town in the country, and gives name to the straits of Caffa, which run from the Euxine or Black Sea, to the Palus Mootis, or sea of Azoph.
