(anc. geog.), an island of Greece in the Saronic bay, over against the port of Trozen, at the distance of 40 stadia. It was 30 stadia in compass, and had a temple of Neptune held in great veneration. It was also an asylum, and the place of the convention or assembly of the seven cities of the Amphictyons. To this place Demosthenes went twice into banishment.
