(John), one of the most famous divines among the Protestants of France in the 17th century, was born at Glasgow in Scotland, where he taught the Greek tongue; and having read lectures upon that language for about a year, travelled, and became professor at several universities, and minister at Bordeaux. He published, 1. Theological lectures; 2. Icon Johannis Cameronis; and some miscellaneous pieces. He died in 1625, aged 60.
