CARUNCULE Myrtiformes, in anatomy, fleshy knobs about the size of a myrtle-berry, which owe their origin to the breaking of the hymen. See Anatomy, no 372, d.

CARUNCLES in the urethra, proceeding from a gonorrhea, or an ulceration of the urethra, may be reduced by introducing the bougie.
