Lily of the Valley, in botany, a genus of the hexandria order, belonging to the monogynia class of plants. The species are eight, three of which are natives of Britain, viz., the majalis, or may-lily; the multiflora, or solomon's-seal; and the polygonatum, or sweet-smelling solomon's-seal.
