ASPHODEL-LILY; a genus of the monocotyledon order, belonging to the hexandria class of plants. They are very beautiful greenhouse plants, rising two or three feet high, each of them crowned by a large umbellate cluster of pathaceous, monopetalous, long funnel-shaped flowers; blue, white, or striped, having a very fragrant smell. They are propagated by offsets.
