(John), a native of Silesia in the 17th century, who practised physic at Leyden, and was remarkable for understanding 16 languages. He supported an opinion, that the German and Persian languages were derived from the same origin. His Latin translation of the Tablet of Celsus, with the Arabic version and the Greek, was printed at Leyden in 1640, under the care of Salmasius, who prefixed thereto a very ample preface.
