the yamboo, or Silver-tree; a genus of the monogynia order, belonging to the icelandia class of plants. There are two species, both natives of the hot parts of Asia. They rise from 20 to 30 feet high; and bear plum-like fruit, including one nut. They are too tender to live in this country, unless they are constantly kept in a house.
