(Marcellus), of Florence, born 1433, applied himself particularly to the study of the Greek and Latin tongues; followed the Platonic feet; and translated into Latin the works of Plato, and of several great men who maintained that philosophy, as Jam-

blichus, Plotinus, Proclus, &c. He died in 1449.
