(Oberto or Hubert), a Genoese priest, and one of the most learned writers of the 16th century. He had a share in the disturbances that were raised at Genoa; for which he was banished, and died at Rome in 1581, aged 63. He wrote a history of Genoa in Italian, which is highly esteemed; and many works in Latin.
