or Kiow, a considerable town of Poland, and capital of the Ukraine, in the palatinate of the same name, with an archbishop's-sea and a castle. It belongs to Russia, and carries on a considerable trade. It is divided into the Old and New Town; and seated on the river Nieper, in E. Long. 31° 51'. N. Lat. 50° 12'.
