a sea-port town of Asia, in Indostan; seated at the mouth of the river Sinda, or Indus, with a harbour capable of receiving ships of 200 tons burden. It is but a small place, consisting of about 100 houses built with wood; but has a stone fort, with five great guns, to prevent robberies; because some of the neighbouring countries are much addicted to thieving.
