(Paul), born at Dort in Holland, a famous lawyer, historian, and linguist, was professor of history in the university of Leyden after Lipsius. He wrote, 1. Commentaries on Ennius. 2. The life of Erasmus and Junius. 3. A cosmography. 4. A treatise of law; and died in 1607.
