Another Midian, near the Arnon and Euphrates, in ruins in Jerome's time; with the daughters of these Midianites the Israelites committed fornication, and were guilty of idolatry. A branch of the Midianites dwelt on the Arabian gulph, and were called Kenites; some of whom turned profelytes, and dwelt with the Israelites in the land of Canaan.
