or MAGDOL, (anc. geog.), a place in the Lower Egypt, on this side Pihahiroth, or between it and the Red-Sea, towards its extremity. The term denotes a tower or fortres. It is probably the Magdolus of Herodotus; seeing the Septuagint render it by the same name.
