(Abraham), a celebrated painter, born at Frankfort, acquired a great reputation by his skill in representing flowers, fruits, insects, flies, birds, and fishes. His colouring is admirable; and the dew spread on the flowers is so well imitated in his pictures, that one is tempted to take hold of them.
