(Godfrey), professor of physic at Iena, was born at Lauch in Thuringia in 1611. He became first physician to Frederic William elector of Brandenburg, to Augustus duke of Saxony, and to William duke of Saxe-Weimar. He wrote several medicinal works, which are esteemed; and died at Halle, in Saxony, in 1664.
