in botany, a species of Artemisia. An infusion of this plant in white wine, or a bath made of it, has been always esteemed an emmenagogue, and useful in difficult parturition. The leaves, when young and tender, are frequently made use of by the Highlanders of Scotland as a pot-herb. The country-people in Sweden drink a decoction of them for the ague.
