or Permia, a town of the Russian empire, and capital of a province of the same name, seated on the river Kama between the Dwina and the Oby; E. Long. 55. 50. N. Lat. 70. 26. The province is bounded on the north by the Samoiedes, on the west by Zirania and Ulatka, and on the east by Siberia.

PERNAMBUÇO, a province of Brazil in South America, bounded on the north by Tamera, on the east by the ocean; on the south by Seregiipa, and on the west by Tapuyers. It is about 200 miles in length, and 150 in breadth. The Dutch became masters of it in 1630, but the Portuguese soon retook it from them. It produces a great quantity of sugar, and the best Brazil wood.
