(ans. geog.) a town of Tarraconensis, formerly called Adi; supposed to be Guadix, to the east of the city of Granada, at the foot of a mountain, near the source of the rivulet Guadalantin; now greatly decayed. It is the Colonia Accitana Gemella, and was of some repute among the Roman colonies. The people were called Gemellenses, because the colony consisted of colonists from the third and fifth legions.
