**ADDICTI,** in antiquity, a kind of slaves, among the Romans, adjudged to serve some creditor whom they could not otherwise satisfy, and whose slaves they became till they could pay or work out the debt.

**ADDICTION,** among the Romans, was the mar- Addition, king over goods to another, either by sale, or by legal sentence; the goods so delivered were called bona additio. Debtors were sometimes delivered over in the same manner; and thence called servi additi.
