a general name for all periodical fevers, which, according to the different times of the returns of the feverish paroxysm, are denominated tertian, quar- tian, and quotidian. See Medicine (Index).

AGUE-Cake, the popular name for a hard tumour on the left side of the belly, lower than the false ribs, said to be the effect of intermittent fevers.

AGUE-TREE, a name given to the saffarias, on ac- count of its febrifuge qualities.
