a town of Nova Scotia, is seated in the bay of Fundy; and, though a mean place, was formerly the capital of the province. It has one of the finest harbours in America, capable of containing 1000 vessels at anchor in the utmost security. The place is also protected by a fort and garrison. At the bottom of the harbour is a point of land, which divides two rivers; and on each side there are pleasant meadows, which in spring and autumn are covered with all sorts of fresh-water fowl. There is a trade carried on by the Indians with furs, which they exchange for European goods. W. Long. 64° 5'. N. Lat. 45° 10'.
