or *Civitas Arausiensis*, or *Arausiacorum* (Notitiae); *Colonia Secundanorum* (Mela, Pliny, Coins); so called, because the veterans of the second legion were there settled. The capital of the Cavares, in Gallia Narbonensis. Now Orange, in the west of Provence, on an arm of the rivulet Egue, which soon after falls into the Rhone, from which it is distant a league to the east, at the foot of a mountain.
