MASTERWORT: A genus of the digynia order, belonging to the pentandra class of plants; and in the natural method ranking under the 45th order, Umbellatae. The involucrum is lanceolate, open, equal, and coloured. The species are two, the major and minor, both natives of the Alps, and Astrantia possessing no remarkable properties.
