Her temple stood in the city Bambyce, called afterwards Hierapolis. It was extremely rich, insomuch that Crassus, in his march against the Parthians, spent several days in weighing the treasure. Vossius makes the name of this goddess Phoenician, from addir-dag, "the great fish."
